Time Check: 5:35 AM
College of Forestry Entrance
Mudpring, 4.3 Kms
In order to save time we have to take the shortest route
A 90 degree climb .... around 50ft... no sweat :)
The roots and vines made it a lot easier
It's actually easier than it looks.....
I still love doing it....
Son.. zip if first please...
False alarm... not limatik
Just a caterpillar
Few more meters....
I am definitely about to faint...
Think happy thoughts....
I smell food...
There... breakfast finally....
Just let me sit here for the rest of my life....
Yeah....
Guard dog... lol
Tatang..
Camp site's caretaker....
Arghh! 692 meters more..
Living up to its name....
Mud.. more mud..
Proud to say that I'm the last man (woman) standing
Yeah thanks... that is so very helpful
This is the hardest part.....
Finally...
Sulfur and Iron deposits
Sulfur for skin ailments and insect bites???
The locals believe so...
Mud spring
Said to be one of Mt. Makiling's crater..
Yeah.. i dont intend to...
Bubbles...
Nah, just boiling mud
Tried to cook some eggs here way back 1991
Strong sulfuric smell at this point
Me: I feel so clean.. hahaha!
(at least compared to the other [ younger] hikers.. I didn't fall off my butt....
strong legs)
I love my shoes....
After 6 hours of alternately up and downhill walking (with a few minutes of rest in between).....
we are ready to go home....
We survived and managed to stay alive...
Next trip: Macalelon Quezon on February 3
Wish List: Anawan in Burdeos, Tayabas, Pullilo and Lamon Bay
